THE FOURTH EGOKILLS ALBUM BRAINBANGER OUT OCTOBER 2ND 2026
New empowering single Shine & Glow out now and band is playing live in Helsinki, Finland!
Finland’s hard rocking heavy metal band Egokills celebrates 15 years this year – a milestone that few band ever reach. Egokills’ fourth album is called Brainbanger and it’ll be released on October 2nd 2026. Egokills is playing a show this Thursday July 16th 2026 with Black Royal at On The Rocks Helsinki, Finland and ending their two-year dry season of shows.
”It’s like the first drop of water when you’ve been really thirsty for a really long time”, drummer Vilho Rajala hypes.
Brainbanger is an album with rough edges, easily the most metal Egokills has been up to now. It was produced by Juha Nevala, who’s been working with Somehow Jo and Huora and gained a lot of attention for making bands sound on record like they actually sound. The recording took place in the most comfortable Finnish studio, Lammaskallion Audio, which is located at an actual farm.
”It was definitely the right choice to retreat to this countryside studio away from normal life. We were able to focus better than ever before and we had fun”, guitarist Niko Viita-aho says.
Shine & Glow is the second single from Brainbanger, as the hard-blasting Knuckle Choke was released already in late May.
In 2024 Egokills became a four-piece after always trying to be a five-piece with different line-ups. Already in 2018 when Egokills embarked on their first European tour with Lordi, they did it as a four-piece. This time vocalist and frontman Janne Selo grabbed a guitar.
”When I started playing, I instantly felt about twenty years younger. Then the songs started flowing”, Janne Selo describes.
The making of Brainbanger started already in 2024 but 2025 was a year of setbacks, grief, loss and frustration. The difficulties are now behind and Egokills is ready and willing to tour extensively again.
Brainbanger album will be released by Mellowhead Creations Ltd and there will be yet another single in the fall before the album release.
The album release show will take place on October 9th 2026 at the intimate and high quality venue Bar Kotelo in Tampere, Finland, the band’s home town. The alternative metal newcomer We Are Still are supporting.
